In pursuit of continuous improvement in educational outcomes and program effectiveness, Education Program Supervisor-SGOD Dr. Roland D. Diaz underscored the importance of strengthening technical assistance and adaptive learning among education leaders. “Let us unlearn, relearn, and learn,” Diaz emphasized, pointing out the need for flexibility and growth in the face of changing educational demands.
Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Felizardo O. Bolaños reminded school heads and personnel of the importance of preparedness and calm decision-making, especially during unforeseen circumstances such as disasters. “We must be ready for whatever may happen. Let us stay calm and decide with courage,” Dr. Bolaños stated. The Division Engineer and Disaster Risk Reduction Management Division Coordinator were tasked to ensure the inspection of all school buildings and facilities for safety and readiness.
As part of the Division’s ongoing efforts, a School-Based Management (SBM) Reorientation was conducted to revisit insights and practices gained from previous training. The initiative empowers school communities to ensure the safety and well-being of learners while fostering a culture of shared leadership. Through SBM, teachers, school heads, parents, and community stakeholders are trusted to make sound and justified decisions that best serve their respective schools.
The reorientation highlighted that shared responsibility and collective collaboration are vital in managing resources wisely and promoting accountability at all levels. Improving teacher competencies, in turn, rests on the shoulders of school heads who play a key role in driving learner performance.
“School-Based Management exists because we believe in co-ownership—through collaboration, consultation, and participation of all stakeholders,” Dr. Bolaños concluded. “Everyone is accountable for the success of our learners.”
